Ron and Brenda Barnes

Ronnie, Victoria, and Sophia

Ron and Brenda, along with their three children, have been in the Czech Republic came to the Czech Republic in 2006. Ron serves as Country Coordinator for ABWE and uses his time to train leaders and prepare the community for outreach.

Ron – Having been born into a military family in Madison, GA Ron traveled the country and the world before settling in Pennsylvania to attend Bible Baptist College. After being saved as a teenager, Ron knew his calling was to pastor and train leaders. At BBC, he earned his BS in Bible and Pastoral Ministries and then went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Seminary. Ron pastored in the States for 6 years, joining with ABWE in 1996. Ron and his family moved to Hungary in 2001 and were an integral part in planting churches among Hungarians and Gypsies. In 2006, they moved to Czech Republic where took on the role as Country Coordinator for the newly opened field.

Brenda – Born into a Christian family, Brenda accepted Christ at the young age of 5. She grew up in New York State and then moved to Pennsylvania to attend Baptist Bible College. There she earned her BS in Bible, Music, and Office Administration, as well as her MRS as she met and married her husband Ron. Brenda dedicates her time to taking care of her husband and children, as they serve faithfully in Czech. She is actively involved in the Ladies Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and the Praise Team. Brenda plays a vital role when teams come to visit as she takes cares of everyone during their time here.

Even though they have spent most of their youth in Hungary, the Barnes kids are well-adjusted MKs who are actively involved in the church children’s program and in local activities. All three are home-schooled by team member Jen Thigpen.

Ronnie – Finishing up the seventh grade, Ronnie is a super student who loves paint ball, video games, and teasing his two sisters! He takes Czech lessons once a week and plays on a local soccer team. He hopes to one day attend Liberty University in Virginia.

Tori – Just out of the fifth grade, Tori is looking forward to her first year as a middle-schooler! She loves animals and decorating her room. Tori is also involved in karate school – no doubt learning tactics to use on her brother!

Sophie – Getting ready for the fourth grade, Sophie is an excellent student who loves hands-on activities – especially ones that involve getting dirty! She enjoys playing “dress up” and jumping on her trampoline. Sophie is also taking gymnastics lessons, which allows her a chance to show her true passion – performing!
